Established in Sydney in 1979, and founded by Robert Yazbek, our experience ranges from private residential homes and stunning large-scale multi-unit developments, to commercial and industrial buildings.

Robert’s 42 years in the property industry can be characterised by clear methodology and strong work ethic, with a focus on technically demanding and performance focused projects.
He commenced his building career in 1974, working with his father who was also a property developer and builder. Robert formed his own construction company in 1979, and has constructed numerous commercial, industrial and residential developments of the highest calibre.
Robert was the recipient of the ‘Top Homes Award Housing Industry Association’ for excellence every year from 1993 to 1997. In 1998 he received the H.I.A and Master Builders’ Association ‘House of the Year’ award.
From 1999 to 2016 Yazbek’s previous company, Atlas Construction Group Pty Ltd, constructed high-rise residential developments. Rebranding to Amara Living has given him the opportunity to establish a lasting legacy through the management team he has assembled.
The management team continue to utilise his many years of knowledge and expertise proven in the significant architectural, property development and construction projects he has successfully completed to date.
Matthew has a background in Tax & Accounting and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He joined the group in 2012 as the company’s Financial Controller.
Matthew formed a close working relationship with Robert Yazbek. Robert mentored Matthew about Property Development allowing Matthew to understand the property development supply chain from the identification of development sites, working with planners, architects and local government authorities, design development, sales and marketing, property finance and construction. Through this education, Robert emphasised to Matthew, the importance of the core principals of Amara: Quality, Unique Design and Professionalism.
As Matthew’s experience grew he was able to move into more commercial roles in the business, firstly being General Manager and now Managing Director.
Matthew prides himself on a strong work ethic, building and cultivating working relationships and pursuing the core principals of Amara each day. He continues to seek Robert’s counsel as he navigates the commercial world of Property and Development.
